AUSTRALIAN CURRICULUM: TECHNOLOGIES EVENT

In 2016 ISQ will hold two one-day professional learning events to support teachers of Australian Curriculum (AC): Technologies in PRIMARY settings (Thursday 3rd March) and AC: Technologies in SECONDARY settings (Friday 4th March) at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

These two days will assist teachers to ‘make sense’ of the achievement standards for the purposes of assessment and reporting and will enhance opportunities for networking and learning from one another. As a result of their attendance it is envisaged that teachers of technologies will go back to their schools with some direction on how to go about developing rubrics so that they can report on a student’s PROGRESS towards an achievement standard that is described in a band. The specific audience are curriculum leaders and teachers of technologies (primary and secondary). The focus will not be about coding or integration of technology into the curriculum. The focus is specifically about the Technology curriculum – unpacking and understanding it for implementation.

Julie King (ACARA senior project officer) will be a keynote speaker on both days.
