STAQ hosts multiple conferences each year. STAQ members can register for these conferences at a discounted price

  • STAQ-UQ Biology Data Fun Days                 
    STAQ/UQ will not be offering any data analysis and interpretation PD beyond Term 2. Term 3 PD will focus only on Unit 3 content deficits and Term 4 PD is offered only at the UQ-STAQ Senior Science Day and UQ-STAQ Senior Biology Day and focus only on Unit 3 and 4 content deficits.
  • Science is Primary Conference
    This conference is intended for primary teachers and those in support roles in primary schools, as well as pre-service primary teachers.  The conference will be held on Saturday, 16 March. Read more ….

    Complementary PD to Biology Data Fun Days focussed on Unit 3 mandatory practicals. Offered as twilight PD.
  • STAQ-UQ Senior Science Workshop for Gold Coast Teachers hosted by Marymount College
  • iFLY/ Wind Tunnel PD Event
  • Beginning and Early Career Evening – POSTPONED
    The BEC Evening features a single keynote and two workshops, as well as networking time for pre-service and establishing teachers (in their first five years of teaching) to meet.
  • An Ecology Extravaganza – multiple dates and locations – August 6-29
  • Senior Chemistry Twilight PD – multiple dates and locations – August 6 and 20
  • Annual General Meeting
    This year’s AGM will be taking place at the University of Queensland on the 29 November (Holt Room).
  • Enhancing Science Practices
    Work your way through a series of “hands on” experiments to prepare you for the compulsory practicals in the new Science Curriculum. Pupil free day – 21 October
  • Senior Science Conference
    This year the Senior Science Conference is a 1 day conference hosted by the University of Queensland. This conference is intended for senior secondary science teachers as well as Science Operations Officers (SOOs) and will be held on 29 November 2019. A PD Day specific to Biology Teachers will be held on 30 November 2019.
